Allergy Therapy

Are you searching for an answer to ill health which general medicine could not seem to treat?

Changes in the Western diet over recent years, i.e. the use of food/chemical additives; food-refining, increase in animal produce consumption and environmental pollution, all contribute enormously to the prevalence of allergies.

Common signs and symptoms connected with food allergy/ intolerance and other external pollutants include

  • headache / migraine
  • fatigue / poor concentration
  • depression / anxiety
  • hyperactivity in children
  • aches and pains
  • bloating
  • stomach issues
  • skin complaints
  • nasal congestion / sinusitis
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome / digestive disorders

or if you have a condition that is not listed here but it has not cleared up after a reasonable length of time, then an intolerance could be the underlying cause, and it would certainly be worthwhile being tested.

The first appointment takes approximately 1½ - 2 hours; a full case history will be taken including present diet, lifestyle, relevant medical history, and current problems, in order to build up a complete picture of the patient. Approximately 80 items will be tested on your first visit.

Once any intolerances/allergies are confirmed a treatment plan will be set out and a fully personalized nutritional program will be devised. This will often involve the taking of dietary supplements to complement your treatment.

Further consultation will be required in 2 to 3 weeks’ time to monitor the patient's progress and to test for further intolerances. This is usually followed by a further appointment in 4 to 6 weeks’ time, again to monitor the continuing progress.

The patient will be totally guided and supported through all stages of their treatment.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy is the controlled use of natural essential oils to achieve balance and harmony of the individual (mind, body and spirit).

An aromatherapist seeks to bring balance to the whole person, using essential oils as a means to maintain and restore balance to each individual.

Prior to a massage details of your medical history will be taken to determine if there are any contraindications to massage or any of the oils. With your input, the choice of a suitable blend of oils will be made. Usually a blend of three different oils is used to gain maximum effect.

You will then be given a towel for modesty and asked to undress. During the treatment, only the area being massaged at the time is exposed, the rest of you remain covered with a towel(s).

The type of massage and oil blends are tailored according to your individual needs. The massage itself is deeply relaxing, but oil blends and techniques can be used to energize you. Once the massage is finished, you will be advised about aftercare e.g. drinking extra water.

Combine the benefits of aromatherapy and reflexology in one treatment.

An ideal treatment to start with if you have never had massage or aromatherapy before. We start with diagnostic testing to find the areas of the body that require treating and then using a cream with essential oils specifically selected for you following the diagnostic testing, work on the areas identified.

Many people find this helpful when they are not able to have a full body massage or there are areas that due to illness or pain it is not possible to massage directly. It is very relaxing treatment and patients and quite often fall asleep.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger, it uses a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams.

A typical CranioSacral Therapy session lasts from 45 minutes to an hour, and takes place in a peaceful setting.

You remain fully clothed as you relax on a comfortable massage table.  I will stand or sit positioned at various points of your head, torso or feet and at times may also support your limbs and spine while helping your body release accumulated tension.

Reiki is a Japanese holistic, light-touch, energy-based modality and is suitable for anyone.

Working as a support mechanism to the body, Reiki re-establishes a normal energy flow of Ki (life force energy) throughout the system, which in turn can enhance and accelerate the body's innate healing ability.

Through a series of hand positions either directly on or just above the body, the practitioner allows for the flow of energy through their body.

It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonising all aspects of the body, mind, emotion and spirit.  It is deeply relaxing and it is not unusual for clients to sleep thought the treatment.

The simplicity of a Reiki session may raise some scepticism, however, after experiencing it, many clients keep coming back for more of those relaxing feelings.

To obtain the maximum effect for relief of pain it is better to receive a treatment on three consecutive days.
